Presentation at the World Road Congress
DURABROADS was presented in the poster exhibition during the 25th World Road Congress which took place in Seoul (Korea) from 2 to 6 November.
The event, which is organised every 4 years, was held under the overarching theme “Roads and Mobility – Creating New Value for Transport”. PIARC, the World Road Association divided the 5-day congress in 17 Technical Committees Sessions with fours strategic themes and 14 special sessions.
Concretely, DURABROADS was part of the Special Session “Adaptation of road transport system to climate change and extreme events”. Latest information about the test of the nanomaterial-enhanced bitumen was described by José Díez.
The Congress brought together ministers and vice-ministers from 35 countries who discussed the evolution of road policy, trying to devise common solutions for universal traffic issues (i.e. sustainable financing, service improvement, new technologies). In this sense, ministers adopted the “Seoul Ministerial Declaration” to be used as a roadmap for future policy work.
